  • 8 Ozone Alert! Days were called.  (8 Ozone Alerts also called in 2001 season)

  • 1-Hour Standard:   No exceedances of the 1-hour ozone standard. The Skiatook monitor’s three exceedances in 2000 no longer provide the ‘near-non-attainment’ threat we assumed both last year and this year.

  • 8-Hour Standard:  The 8-hour health-based standard for ozone was exceeded on 6 days during the season for 11 separate 8-hour exceedances. Our 3-year design value (the averaged 4th highest 8-hr reading) continues to improve – ending the year with a .087 ppm  (.084 ppm standard)   Next season, if the Skiatook monitor records levels no higher than those of this (.083 4th highest) and last year (.084 4th highest), the Tulsa area could be in full compliance with the new standard.
